COLORS -
Ragdolls
come in a variety of colors: Seal , blue,
chocolate, lilac, red, cream, tortie, silvers and
smokes.
Color is
restricted to the points (face, legs, tail). The
ragdoll has a lighter body color than the points,
varying in shades, keeping with the tone of the point
color.
Solids:
Some catteries breed a solid color cat. Much like the
Persian look. There is controversy over this pattern
as the ragdoll is suppose to be a colorpoint cat.
PATTERNS - Point, Mitted,
Bicolor, and Lynx (lynx meaning tabby markings, or
striping).

-
Blue
- BLUE
POINT
- Color
being a medium grey
- to steal
grey on the points
- (face,
legs, tail).
- The
proper term is Blue.
-
-
|

|
- BLUE
POINT MITTED
- The same
grey color, but has white mittens or gloves on the legs.
Very much like a birman cat's white gloves.
-
-
|

|
- BLUE BICOLOR
- Look for the
white inverted "V" on the face. A bicolor can have an
overlay of color on his back, this is called the" saddle".
-

|

|
- BLUE LYNX
POINT
-
(Photo Shown is also Bicolor)
- Blue
grey color but this pattern shows striping or tabby
markings.

|

Seal
|

|
- SEAL
POINT
- Dark brown
on the points, and nose leather almost black. Body color
cream to beige, and also as the cat gets older there will
be some overlay of color on the body of the cat.
|
|

|
- SEAL
POINT MITTED
Dark brown on
the points with white mittens.
|
|

|
- SEAL BICOLOR
- The white
inverted "V" appears on the face of the cat. Around
the "V" will be a nice dark brown color and the back of
the cat can have a saddle or body patching on it.
- Nose leather
is pink .

|
|

|
- SEAL LYNX
POINT
Any of the
patterns and colors can be lynx . The seal has dark
brown lines on the face, legs, and tail.
|

Lilac
|
LILAC BICOLOR
There is a
White inverted "V" on the face surrounded with a very
delicate silver gray color.
|

|
-
-
-
- LILAC
POINT
The lilac
point is the lightest of the colors. The point color can
be a very light silvery grey, or even mushroom in
color . Nose leather is light grey with flesh
tones showing through. It looks to be lavender in
color.
|
|
- LILAC
POINT MITTED
- Same elegant
color as the lilac point, only furnished with white gloves
or mittens.
|
|
- LILAC
LYNX POINT
This is
probably close to the lightest shade you will find in
the ragdoll . It will take almost two years before you
see much for coloring on this cat. Those of you liking
white, will love this color.
|
|
-
Chocolate
- The
chocolate point is a warm brown color on the
points.
- The
body coat is off white or cream in color.
The chocolate point has very little color shading
on the back as the cat matures.
- The
nose leather is a burnt rose color or a milk
chocolate in color.
- The
chocolate point comes in the point, mitted ,
bicolor , and lynx.

CHOCOLATE LYNX POINT

- Red
|
- The red
point is an orangy color on the points.
- As the
color comes in they almost look like lynx points.
- However
at two or three yrs. of age , the red point will be a
very handsome color.
- Red
points come in the mitted, bicolor, lynx pattern too.
|

- Cream
- The
cream point is still orange but in a more delicate
shade.
- The
cream point is also a very slow color to come in.
- Cream
points come in all patterns including the lynx.

- This
Photo is a Mixture of Cream and Red Kittens
|

- Tortie
- Tortie
means with red or cream.
- This
color is the female version of the red. You will
find tortie
- points
in all colors. Seal tortie, choc. tortie,
lilac tortie, blue
- tortie
, etc. You can have red and cream girls
without tortie. However, torties are always
girls. A tortie bicolor can look
- very
much like the calico cat we are all familiar with.
When you
- add
the lynx to a Tortie Point, It will be identified
with a new
- name,.
TORBIE PT.
- They
are very unique in color. Each seems to have their
own
-
identity because there is no set pattern where the
cream or red can
- fall
on this cat.
|

-
Silvers & Smokes
- This
is a fairly new color to be identified in the
ragdoll.
- It has
been here but very few breeders spent time
perfecting this exquisite color. Silvers and
Smokes are more of a duplicate pattern than a
color. They can come in all the colors and
patterns.
- Smoke
will not be found in lynx. Silver is the lynx
pattern.
- Maybe
a little confusing for non breeders.
-
Silver
-
Silvers are always lynx points. They come in
seal, choc. blue, lilac , red and cream. and in all
the patterns.
-
Smokes
-
Smokes have color only on the end of the hair
shafts.
- The
color underneath is always white. This is a
gorgeous color seen, as the cat moves away from
you.
